Discussions | | what do you do when you're bored?
when you've got nothing to do, no place to go..
no friends to call?when days are nothing but the same copy of a copy of
a copy of the days you had?
when everything is so familiar like you always do
it day by day.. by day, by day..
you see the same face at school, at the park, at the cafe..
the same streets you walk, the same taste of coffee
you sip (black coffee, no sugar.. ahh.. tough taste)when the sky is becoming paler and paler each time you look?
when the blue sea is changing its color into.. (pause)
what.. black maybe? (no offence.. haha)
when you listen to your old old antique radio (with mosquitoes
buzzing like bees on your wrinkled ears?)
and the music gets cut off and on and off and on and so on
and so on and so on and on and on?..
(crap! that's my favorite song right there?)when you look for food and found nothing but left
overs of the other days dinner (yuck!)..
over cookedpile of doughs and butter with flies flying
around rejoicing for the blessing that their master fly fave them..when you try to sleep yet you keep on thinking how to earn
faster in mylot.com ( haha.. just joking) rather keep on...
| | No electricity in Lapu-Lapu City | | Since about 2pm today, the lights are out. We are affected in the office since most of us are using computers. Good for me and one of the other personel who has UPS with our computers.I pity one staff who is the duty secretary of the day. She has to go back to the same old antique typewriter to finish the complaint. She already had typed the said compaint in her computer but it happened, all systems are out. Sorry for her.Good thing though for me, that I can still post from my mobile phone. And the mobile provider I have now never shuts down their system here.I wonder what caused this brown-out in Lapu-Lapu. Is this happening only here? How about the neighboring cities? | |
| | | Treadle Machine | | Who remembers the treadle sewing machine? I first learned how to sew on a treadle. I loved listening to the rhythm of the peddle and wheel as she peddled away when making clothing for me or others in the family. My mother and I used my grandmother's treadle. It was by New Home. I had that machine until about 10 years ago. I used that machine right up until the little bobbin holder broke and I could no longer attach the bobbin to it. I have seen some treadle frames recycled into plant stands and end tables. It was hard for me to first use an electric sewing machine. It just went so fast I had a hard time keeping the stitching straight. But eventually I learned. My cousin, on the other hand, learned to sew on an electric machine. Then one day she came to our house for some assistance. My mom sat her down at our treadle and it went so slowly she ended up running the needle through one of her fingers.I remember loving to look through the four little drawers on the treadle to check out all the old antique crochet hooks, knitting needles, tatting shuttles and other items stored in there that once belonged to my grandmother.Does anyone still have an original treadle sewing... | |
| | | Confessions | | I was wondering what other people had to confess about things they did when they were a kid. I am not talking about sordid things, just stuff you know that was a little crazy and maybe got into trouble, or could have if you had gotten caught.I have a list of really stupid things, but at the time they seemed to make some kind of sense and if they didn't, I just couldn't seem to help myself. Here's my list.1. I had a blackball, ( jawbreaker ), candy, in my mouth, until it was small enough and then stuck it in my ear. Oh ya, that was a real fun time!
This was the first thing I did that I can remember, around the age of four. I quickly got hauled off to the doctor for that one. Oh the pain!@. We had a ping pong table in our house and I loved playing doctor. I was the doctor and of course an all in one job. I managed to get the clamp that attaches to the table, and the net put onto my wrist and couldn't get it off. I started blatting to my big brother who was 17, ten years older than me, who informed me that I would have to get my arm sawed off. 3. Arouind ten years of age, we lived in the country in Southern Ontario. We had this real old antique pump, that was working...

| | Why do our voice changes when we grow old? | | When your still a baby your voice is like an angel singing up in heaven, but when you turn at mid 60's voice suppresses. It's like an old antique figurine that soaked in underground for 4000 years. Even when you drink anti-biotic cannot help so. | |
